Thorn of the Lotus

Fighting in the morass of the Fallen Lands has allowed the Elves of the Jade House to develop troops and tactics unknown amongst the other Houses. One of the more curious and dangerous of these warriors are those that are awarded the title "Thorn of the Lotus": a name derived from the razor sharp barbs that grow along the yellow lotus. These warriors were originally Elven retainers who were assigned to long term, duty by their superiors top protect and learn from the Swamp Goblins. Trained by the Swamp Goblins in guerilla tactics and marksmanship, Thorns of the Lotus have, as far as the other members of the Jade House are concerned, "gone native". They have incorporated many of the Swamp Goblins mannerisms and decor into their dress and while they fight for the Jade House quite ferrociously, they seem to prefer to spend their free time roaming the Fallen Lands and hunting with their Swamp Goblins allies.

Consummate marksmen, the Thorn of the Lotus are incredibly accurate with their long blowpipes. In a terrain that would render bows ineffectual, the elongated blowpipes of the Thorns are supremely accurate and effective. To make the Thorns more deadly than they already are, they use a specially prepared gel made from the yellow lotus that they coat their darts with. The gel is a potent nerve toxin that will paralyze a wounded target regardless of its size; a single hit from this dart can stop an enraged Troll in its tracks.
