Cities in Chronopia
An overview of a number of cities and inhabited places of Chronopia.Aleha
Behold the Citadel, a monolithic fortress of black marble, veined with ominous streaks of blood-red iridescence, rising defiantly at the very edge of the Vortex. Its colossal, vitreous pillars thrust skyward, a tribute to their malevolent sovereign.
In the untamed jungles of Jebel, far to the northwest, Aleha, the indomitable ruler, decreed the construction of this Citadel. From this remote bastion, she vowed to forge an unparalleled naval power, etching her legacy into the annals of history.
Aregath
Situated in the far northern reaches of the Kingdom proper, it is strategically placed to control the access into the Inner Sea. Thus, Aregath’s battlements are second only to the ones of Chronopia, and its livery of white and blue is enough to dissuade any wrongdoer in the frozen North from rising his head. People that hail from there are usually dour and unfriendly, tempered from countless skirmishes, both with invaders as well as wild beasts that reside in the periphery of the city.
Chronopia City
The Firstborn pride themselves on holding the greatest city ever built, Chronopia, also known as the Eternal City. Not even the architectural Marvel the Elves created in Elmyris, can compare to the grand sight of the capital of the Firstborn provides to the beholder. Defended by three consecutive walls and a deep moat. The city is all but unassailable on all sides. Furthermore, both city harbours are defended by a heavy chain that can be deployed at a moments notice, blocking the entry and exit of all vessels. Moreover, the City itself is carved into sectors, with each one divided by battlements and huge gateways, ensuring that even if one sector of the City falls, the assailant will have to resume his work from scratch. These monumental defence works, leave treachery as the only approach for any potential conqueror of the City.
Girgardul
Girgaldur, former Dwarven Horned Ones Citadel, stands as a dark fortress within the desolate expanse of the Voiceless Summit Mountains. Here, amidst jagged peaks and eternal shadows, the twisted spires of Girgaldur claw at the heavens, embodying the malevolence and unholy power of its inhabitants. This forsaken stronghold, steeped in dark rituals and forbidden knowledge, radiates an aura of dread that chills even the bravest of souls.
Kerak Ket
Lokoth
Lokoth scoffs at these notions of indirect approach. Citadel of the prophet Lokoth is situated in the Land of Fire, home to the largest fighting pits in existence, where blood always flows and the sound of steel on steel is always present.
Myrema
Myrema, once a grand Elven port city, now stands transformed. Its series of conical structures rise majestically, with the largest at its heart housing the royal palace. Spiral roads ascend to the peaks of each edifice, linked by a web of tapering sky bridges, giving the illusion of a city born of nature itself.
Yet, the old Myrema is no more. Ancient buildings crumble as new, ominous structures rise in reverence to the dark gods. Demonic shrines now dominate the skyline, shrouded in an impenetrable gloom that casts a deadly shadow over the city and its lands. All now bends to the will of its new masters, a testament to their dark dominion.
Negral
Black Citadel serves as a centre of corruption in the Mortal Realm. The black marble of the Citadel’s walls consumes all light, permeating an aura of foreboding to all that even glimpse upon them. It is impossible for one with even a sliver of virtue in his heart, to witness these black walls, without the urge to burst into tears or vomit. The largest of these Citadels is the one sired by Negral. Night constantly covers the land, whilst nightmare carrion birds circle the spires, searching for some flayed corpse to be defenestrated, offering an easy feast for the day. This is the place where the downfall of the Prophets began, and where the corruption of the land runs unparalleled.
Nemeth
Situated upon The Isle of the Dead, the Citadel is a grinder of mortals, both friend or foe, and the screams of the dying never cease to echo upon its chambers. The Frozen Sea around the city is nowhere near as cold as the heart of the island’s dark master.
Nuria
Though technically not part of the Firstborn Kingdom, the city still prides itself on hosting an Eternal Tower. Being in the land of the Untamed, the city is lightly fortified as per the Northerner’s ethos and its role is to be a melting pot of the two facets of the Firstborn, northern and southern.
