Factions

Chronopia has numerous different races and races. Each one has its own strengths and weaknesses and all fight each other and even within their realms there is unrest and fighting.

So you are exposed to dangers everywhere that want to be overcome. This makes Chronopia a dangerous world in which usually only the stronger prevail.

In this context, it makes sense to be able to get a small overview of your potential opponents.

Today: Elven - Firstborn - Devout - Blackbloods - Dwarven

Later: Sons of Kronos - Stygian - Swamp Goblins

  Elven

The elves of Chronopia are not the delicate, "sensitive" creatures known from most other fantasy worlds. In Chronopia, it is brutal, heavily armored and armed fighters who enforce their interests with brute force, but also with cleverness.
The elves at Chronopia are a dominant race and proud of it. They do not have a sole ruler, but are divided into many houses, some stronger than the others, each of which pursues its own interests.

In terms of play, the elves have a large selection of bandages and individual figures. Particularly common units are the axemen, spearmen and archers. The individual figures almost always include a lotus eater.
Magic is an essential element, and both summoning units like the Golems and attacking spells like Fireball are enormously dangerous.

Hint: In the basic rulebook (1st Kickstarter) units of the House of Crystal Lotus are described.

Units of all houses: Spearmen, Axemen, Archers, Dragonbane Warkiller Riders
Units of house Crystal Lotus: Lotus Guard, Dream Warriors, Crystal Knight, Silver Lotus Eater, Blue Lotus Eater, Ice Elemental

  Firstborn

This breed of people is a people with a medieval touch, who try to enforce their will with various orders of knights under the leadership of their One King.
After centuries of enslavement, it was possible to shake it off a few decades ago through the reincarnation of their king. Since then, the firstborn have regained some of their old power and have been an essential power of Chronopia ever since.

The Firstborn are a typical beginner army that has a large number of very good units that you can rarely go wrong with. The Black Sisters are particularly preferred for their agility and punch, the Paladin for its combat power and support for the normal bandages, and the Chronomant for its time spells.
Especially the latter is remarkable, as the magic of the firstborn has an effect on the movement order, which can lead to very interesting situations.

Units: Swordsmen, Macemen, Longbowmen, Iron Guard, Black Sister, Judge, Chronomancer, Repulsar Knight, Mounted Knight

  Devout

The Devouts arose from a quarrel within the Firstborn. The four prophets who helped the One King to be reborn felt betrayed by him and caused a civil war. Before that, the four prophets turned to evil. The civil war was crushed by the king and he banished the prophets. On the way to exile, they were joined not only by the evil fallen Firstborn, who call themselves the lackeys, but also by decayed Firstborn of all other races and peoples. There they strengthened themselves until they presented their power through their attack on all peoples and races of Chronopia a few years ago.
The Devouts, reinforced by undead and demons, have become the greatest danger of all the free races of Chronopia and their goal is to enslave or destroy all living beings.

In the game, the Devouts show themselves to be excellent melee fighters, who are either immune (skeletons) or well equipped against bolts and arrows. A variety of monsters and very good melee units are available to a minion player. The Forgotten, Dark Eyes, Necromancer, Dusk Realm Warriors and Soulslayers are particularly popular.

Units: Follower, Greatswordsmen Followers, Cursed, Dark Eye, Dusk Realm Warrior, Dusk Realm Demon, Blood Knight, Blood Hunter, Tormented, Warped Lord

  Blackbloods

The orcs, goblins, ogres and trolls of the Blackbloods with oriental style are unique in the fantasy genre so far.
The races, organized under the leadership of an ogre emperor, assemble the largest army of Chronopia and are tough in both taking and dealing. It has always proven to be a disadvantage that the emperor is distracted from the real threats by the independence efforts of orcs and goblins.

The Blackbloods provide a wide range of units. Orcs, ogres, trolls and goblins in their various forms enrich every game army. The Orc Assault Warriors, the Alchemists, but also the Goblin Rippers appear again and again in the armies.
The magic of the Blackbloods is expressed through the potions of the Orc Alchemists, which can heal but also harm.

Units: Orc Swordsmen, Orc Archers, Goblin Swordmaster, Ogre Infantry, Orc Assault Warrior, Troll, Savage Troll, Troll Deathseeker, Orc Kutara Lancer, Orc Alchemist, Royal Orc Food Tester

  Dwarven

Spread across numerous clans, few of which have regained their old power, the Dwarves are a tenacious and well-armed race. With their gods turned into beasts by a curse, they have to carry a heavy burden through this tragedy, but one that will strengthen them.
The Dwarves live in huge, mostly underground ring fortresses full of technical marvels and rarely ores. In these fortresses, they are almost invincible and, together with their former gods, are a dominant race of Chronopia.

Dwarves, as expected, live mainly from their good armor protection. There is no magic in the true sense of the word with them, and only the Blood Totems, the fallen gods, and their guardians have something magical about them. Most of the armies of the dwarves consist of the Keeper and a Blood Totem as well as a large number of other different units such as spearmen, swordsmen and axemen and other special formations and individual figures.

Hint: The basic rulebook (1st Kickstarter) is only about the horned ones clan.

Units: Swordsmen Legion, Gauntlet Legion, Spearmen Legion, Axe-Horn Warrior, Warshields, Horned Ones Riders, Manx-Skull Champion, Keeper, Blood Totem

Hint: The following factions have appeared in previous editions and are expected to be re-released in future Kickstarters.

  Sons of Kronos

The barbarians, also known as bloodlust, are the Sons of Kronos, a human race that has retained its natural origins. They worship nature with everything they are and this is probably an important reason why they were not enslaved like the Firstborn.
The Sons of Kronos are divided into three tribes, the tribe of twilight, the tribe of shadow and, as the largest, the tribe of the goddess. In the icy plains of the north, these tribes lead a hard life and their fighting power is strong enough to teach respect to all opponents.

The Sons of Kronos are a difficult army to play and are not suitable for beginners. They have almost no ranged abilities and due to their low armor protection, they are very sensitive. That´s why the Kronos in particular needed a game table well covered with terrain pieces and a capable player who can implement tactical movement very well.
But if the bloodlust comes into melee combat, they are extremely dangerous. Barely hitting and deadly in the strike, units such as the Heartguard, the Berserkers and many of the special units of the tribes stand out as brutal melee fighters.
Their connection to nature is an essential feature of their magic, so it is not surprising that thorn hedges, roots, etc. are used on the part of the Sons of Kronos.

  Stygian

With the Stygians, a bloodthirsty, brutal and ice-cold race has awoken from its sleep. Hundreds of years ago, they ruled Chronopia before retiring to their pyramid-like cities as a result of an intervention by the gods.
Now they have been awakened by the intrigues of the One King of the Firstborn, and already in the first wave they destroyed many armies in all lands and the captives were sacrificed on their altars to the goddess Tiamat.

The Stygians are also anything but, but certainly not an easy army to play. The Stygians have no ranged units and also a general lack of normal troops. On the other hand, her selection of individual figures is very large. Many with unique abilities and the priestess with her magic, some of the strongest spells available in Chronopia. The priestess is therefore a central element of every Stygian army.

  Swamp Goblins

In the Lost Land, a jungle located in a huge valley, a group of goblins adapted to the nature of the valley was able to gain enough power to become independent of the Blackblood Empire.
The Swamp Goblins are a small, agile branch of the goblin family, which over time became just as much a part of the Lost Land as the fauna and flora around them. Divided into numerous tribes, they fight with the weapons and possibilities of their homeland, so it is not surprising that they have armor and weapons made of chitin in their ranks due to a lack of metals and ride and fly on huge insects and spiders.

The Swamp Goblins are a mass army. Their striking power is the mass, combined with flying bandages, very good spells and large insects. The core of every swamp goblin army are the associations, either Spearmen, Mantis Guard or Headhunters, supported by shamans. Swamp goblins require a certain amount of skill in the use of many figures and bandages. Furthermore, you have to be able to live with the fact that the units are not able to fight on the battlefield for long. If both conditions are met, the swamp goblins are a dangerous army, especially in the jungle, but also outside.
